A little help from the herp community...

taylorjames Aug 17, 2011 01:51 PM

Hello everyone. I live in Savannah, Ga. and need the help of my fellow herpers. I am working on a photo project and I am looking for both venomous and nonvenomous snakes, lizards, frogs, and actually any animal that I can photograph. My purpose behind this project is to show a different side of an animal that the "mainstream" populace views as gross, scary or disturbing. I will be using macro photography to get extreme close ups of my subjects to show something unique and beautiful. My hope is that people will see these animals as more than just another scary snake, alligator, spider...etc.

Please feel free to email me at tjsdragons@comcast.net if you think you can help out on this project.

Thank you very much,
Taylor James

Hopefully you can photograph them while a young girl handles them as she smiles to the audience as if she doesn't have a care in the world. Otherwise they might still just seem like very close-up photos of extremely scary, gross animals to most of the general public!..

Seriously though, best of luck with this project!

You should do a close up of a toad eye. They have gold flecking in them and are beautiful. Most non-herpers never get close enough to see this.

Best of luck with your project.

Very cool Chris... trying to decide if I want to attempt to figure out what each pic is... a chameleon on the coiled tail... flat tailed gecko on the "fractal skin" image?

Other than snake or lizard... I have no clue on the others... still cool in any case.

Very nice Chris, a rather unique look at all things reptile... never would have even had "close" guesses to those others.
