Even More Surprises

So maybe some of you remember my male that I thought was a specter but ultimately turned out to be a Yellow belly...

He bred a Yellow belly female this year and produced this clutch:

Well I also bred him to a 100% het albino female. Back when I thought he was a specter I was hoping for 50% possible het albino specters. But when he proved out as a yellow belly I though "well not as cool but 50% possible het yellow bellies would be cool". Well a little over a week ago, the 100% het albino's small 3 fertile egg clutch hatched and, lo and behold, there were 3 albinos looking at me! One was severely kinked and had to be euthanized but here are the other two. I believe at least one and maybe both are albino yellow bellies and this also means that my ivories in the previous clutch are 50% poss het albinos too.

Here are some pics of the albinos just post-shed. Any thoughts on whether they might be yellow bellies?

Thanks Alan! I'll try. Took some ventral shots but the photos were really washed out, so I'll have to try again...

Wow ! What a nice thing !

Are you sure it's just not a special snake that make everything you put in with "super".

Ivories and Albinos, wow.

Put it to a mojave and see if you can "super mojave" lol ! :D !

Really nice odds and luck ! Where does that male come from, WC ? CH ?

I purchased him as a ~5 mo old hatchling from Jared Horenstein in Jan '06. He was hatched summer '05 and was a clutch-mate to Jared's '05 super stripe. I spoke to Jared earlier this week and sent him photos. He said he never bred any albino into the line and it has never produced any albinos. Very strange!

I made a Yb Albino and they are very high contrast almost like a baby Lav Albino , they also have orange/red almost triangles down low on the sides where you see the flames on a Yb . Doesn't look to me like that's quite what you have there.

Well only one way to find out I guess. I'll be holding them back and plugging them into various of my ivory and YB projects. So maybe in a year or two I'll know for sure.
