Came home from Daytona show to this...

MikeMurphy Aug 22, 2011 05:13 PM

11 eggs, all perfect. From a female Albino Blonde Suboc x male Snow Normal-Pattern Suboc (owned by Dusty Rhoads). The cool thing is that is was sort of a last-minute decision to put these two together. The male seemed a bit small in the spring and I didn't think he'd be ready. But he ate like crazy and put on a lot of size between then and the latter part of June when I started to pair them up. The female (pictured) is het silver, so she's het snow. Can't wait to see what pops out. Was fun coming home from the Daytona show to see these eggs. I still can't believe 11 eggs came out of her!

That’s just awesome. They’re gonna throw some beauts!

I’m not advertising Mike as a potential snake partner, but man does he deliver!

Hey Mike, I'm sure that was a nice sight to return home to.
I hope you will post some shots of the babies when they hatch. Congrats!

Good for you Mike.Missed seeing you at the Daytona show this year. The female is a beauty! Shouldn't have surprised however. If the female is at least two years old then she should breed. If your partner raised the male at his normal "slow as you go" philosophy then he was just waiting for someone to feed him correctly and get him to size. Check out Kevin Muchnick's photo gallery if you have not already seen it. He had 18 of 22 female subocs drop eggs this year. Each clutch was photographed and posted. He bred his 18 month old female that dropped eggs this weekend. I would love to see pics of your babies in a few months. Take care,PD

Hey Phil,
Yeah, I looked around for you at the show. Seems like a lot of people skipped it this year. It felt like a different show in a lot of ways. The FIRE show is this weekend in Orlando at the old site of the Breeders' Expo. Will be curious to see how that one goes.

Actually, I wasn't surprised the female bred--this is her third clutch. I just wasn't planning on using the male this year as he seemed kind of small to me after hibernation. But then a few months of feeding he seemed to grow overnight so I figured "what the hell?"

Talk to you soon. I will post pics as these guys hatch.

Mike
