Not eating as much as everyone else's here??? what do you think...

dubumb Oct 01, 2003 11:07 AM

i've been reading around this forum and i hear people saying their leopards eat like 5 crickets each feeding and like 3 mealworms. My babies are only eating about 1 mealworm every other day... Is there something wrong do you think? or is it just because they are babies? I'm confused....

I also heard of people giving their geckos baby food or yogurt... what is this for?

Thanks...

What substrate are you using? How big are the babies? Are you feeding them appropriately sized prey (e.g. 1/2 grown mealies and 3 week old crix?) What is your heat source?

They are about 3˝"-4" The temp is about 85-87 during the day about about 72-75 at night. I give them fairly good sized mealworms. I'm using paper towel substrate with overhead lights for heat

Well there's your problem then. Switch to an undertank heater with thermostat, get warm side temps to 88-90°, and I bet your leos start eating normally.
