It works fine, now. They will shut down when they get too hot, but mine would do it within 2 minutes of turning it on at first. Be sure not to touch the bulb @ anytime w/ your fingers; something in the oils from our skin can cause it to not work.

HHMM I'm not too sure of how to fix that, but I would give reptiledirect an e-mail and tell them your having a problem and it does not work. Zoo med will have you send the light back which costs money. Reptile direct will pay for the shipping. Sorry your having a problem with it, that really stinks. That problem with the flickering is a problem they have once in a while. I think it's from being shaken in transpot. Something comes loose inside. You really have to be gentle with these type bulbs. I had many problems with every brand when I first started using them. They last the longest if screwed in and just left alone hanging over the tank so you don't have to handle them too much. If you bang them or drop them they blow very easily.

they creat hotspots and will affect the lighting and staying lite of the bulbs, oils on them from fingers or hands will also cause them to burn out fast....... also make sure you have them in a ceramic light socket
