too late in the season?

zazzygrrl Oct 01, 2003 11:21 AM

My largest female Leo just hit 50 grams and is looking really healthy so we decided to put her with our male to breed yesterday. The good news is that they very peacefully co-exist, but it makes me wonder if they have actually mated. I had intended to remove her immediately, but they have not shown the behaviour I expected. He is a little smaller, around 45 grams, but I think still plenty old enough. Is it too late in the season? Should I remove her now and just wait and see if she lays eggs or leave her in longer?

thanks

Last year I put my females in with my male in January. I thought that was a little late for me, thats why I am going to do it a bit earlier this year.

I didn't have any problems breeding them at all. My male couldn't get enough of that sweet gecko lovin' ha ha ha.

If it doesn't work out, dont stop, but keep trying. I had one that wouldn't let the male touch her, but she eventually caved in after a few tries.
