I have a young Argentine with extremely dry skin on the top, front half of his body. feels almost like very fine sand paper.
i'm 100% sure the last shed came off all in one piece.
hasn't been soaking in his water bowl
eating and behaving normally
no odd coloration, or bumps, or cracks in the skin
have him in half of a 4' boaphile with reptile bark
humidity in my snake room stays at about 60-65%
hot spot of 88 and cool of 74day/70 night
he's been in these conditions for a few months with no problems. i've had a dozen other snakes in these conditions for years with no problems.
i've raised the humidity in his cage to about 75% and am misting him with shed ease every other day in an attempt to lubricate his skin.
any ideas on whats wrong/ how to fix it? should i just wait on another shed before i become too concerned?
