Makeing Bees

tweedaldumb Aug 24, 2011 11:35 AM

In your experience, have you achieved better results from using a male or female pastel to breed with a spider to make bees? I know either way can result in bees, but I was just curious to know if anyone has had better luck one way or another.

I was also curious on breeding holdbacks. Is there a rule about rebreeding them to mother/father? I would think it would be bad, but have no idea.
Thank you for your time!
Steve

as for making bees i dont believe it makes a difference for better quality animal, using better examples of the morphs should ultimatly lead to a better looking be ie a pastel that has held its yellow vs. browning out with age. and as for breeding hold backs back to the parents, that is the only way to prove things to be genetic.. you are correct that it can be bad but only if you repeatedly breed siblings together or siblings back to the parents

either or...it would make no difference...

I just got 3 ...from a bee x lesser male...
and 2 lesserBees and 2 pastel lessers.....all females...but no queens.....(and one male pastel)

....it really doesn't matter...it makes better bees to have better looking adults....
