so pretty satisfied with my first to babies ever... theyve come a long way. they were laid just before i was going to south carolina for a 9 day vacation, so right before i left i had the vermiculite mixed by a breeder here in town who has been doing it for 20 years since i didnt want there to be any problems while i was gone. when i get back and check on them the vermiculite is completely dry and all the condensation has built up on the top of the incubator so the eggs on the bottom are all caved in and the ones on top had been dripped on (i didnt get to them soon enough to separate them). at this point i changed to the crate method, soon after two eggs molded, the other five went to 50 days (there were seven initially). on day 50 on my check before going to work the female in the picture (the first picture) was out of the egg, along with another who came out too soon without fully absorbing the yolk so it died. the next day the other three are poking there heads out, day 52 two more come out without absorbing their yolk either so i lose them too. the last makes his way out on day 54 fully absorbed and sporting the pastel yellowbelly look. it could have been better but could have been far worse, at least i got two and a better knowledge of incubating, i will also be using the crate method from now on.
Just as an added question, i am pretty certain the male (the last two pictures) is the double gene, the female seems like a maybe, any ideas if she is yellowbelly also?
