No experience with shows down your way but my son Nate (he breeds and sells only Black Milks) and I regularly attend shows in New Hampshire as vendors and success seems to be a seasonal thing... one show is in April and he always does well at that one... the other show is in October and he might make a few sales there. The majority of vendors experience the same results.
Whether sales are good or not I always have a great time, my son spends most of his time talking with potential buyers and I spend most of mine letting kids handle one of the adult BM's he always brings along for just that purpose. A funny observation over the past few years is that women wanting to handle the snakes far outweighs men wanting to. It's rather comical... you have this stereotypical image about women and snakes yet it's been the women oohing and ahhing over them while the men are standing well back with this "no freaking way" look on their faces.
Long and short of it... it's a hit and miss thing... go out and enjoy the shows... the crowds are always more infinitely interesting than anything you'll come across on the tables.
