snow king breeding

nate351 Oct 01, 2003 01:14 PM

Hello all,
I finally aquired a "snow" cali king at an expo last weekend. Now, he (she or it) is still very young, so I have a few years before it is breeding age, but I was wondering about the trait. Is the "snow" trait a simple recessive trait, or is it a combination of several traits? Also, I have a striped lavender albino female that I got at the same expo. If the snow is a male, what color morphs would come from the first breeding (in other words, does the snow carry albinism, or is that a completely unrelated trait?)

Thanks,
Nate.

I don't know much about cal-kings but in every other snake that I've heard the snow term used it refered to an animal that is both albino and anerythristic/axanthic. So if you cross a snow to an albino you should have albino babies that are heterozygous for snow.
