Hi all
What is the largest cornsnake ever recorded? Length/weight?
And was it a male or female?
Often you see very big females, but i think they often get´s more food than males.
Thanks
Jonas

This question comes up once in a while and everyone posts pics of some latge ones they either have or have had. I don't know if there is a recorded record of the largest? I suspect any Corn over 5 feet is a big one. I have to say that I have noticed males to be larger, but that's just me. Okeetees tend to be on the upper register of the size scale, but my largest one at the moment is a female WC Brevard County, which is about tied with my largest Okeetees at just over five feet. She just double clutched so she looks thin, but here is a pic of her before breeding.

Six feet is the official record. As far as I know, only wild-caught corns have reached this length. Captive-bred corns, especially morphs, seem not to grow as large as their wild counterparts. In the wild male corns tend to be larger than females. In captivity females are often fed more so they can have better weight for breeding and regain weight after egglaying.

Thanks. 6 feet is very large indeed.
Nice corns you both have.
I have seen a few Okeetee-type captive-bred corns in the past that were every bit of literally pushing a true 6 feet in length. As the others said though, captive morphs are generally always well short of that length. Males are "naturally" a bit larger than their female counterparts, but again, as they stated, females often tend to get fed far more for producing eggs.
That over 5 foot female Jorge is holding in his hand there might not look all that large in the photo, but she is indeed a very large W/C animal that I captured as a small 20" yearling back in 2005. Jorge just has hands the size of a catcher's mit is all..
