Post a picture of your favorite king

varanid Aug 29, 2011 04:00 PM

Title says it all...of all your kings, which one (or two) is your favorite? Post a photo!

I'll be figuring out mine tonight while doing cage cleaning, will take pictures then. I'm leaning towards my female speck or my male WS...he's just big and beautiful.

A couple of old pics of Zunchara, my 08 female, and Blaze, my '10 male. Please excuse old pics; I just fed everyone today and don't want to disturb them now.

I have so many that are favorites so I picked my favorite 2 that I produced the last 2 yrs. First one I produced this year out of my striped line Amealco L.ruthveni.

The second is my reduced black, almost candy cane knoblochi from Steve Osborne line animals.

Hands down black and white California Kings are my favorites. Bandeds first then stripes.

none of the pictures I took of my speckled female turned out worth a rip; hard to photograph! I'm getting better though, will try again after I play more with ISO filters and exposure speeds. Right now if there's enough exposure to get it so she's not blurry from motion, her colors are all whacked--the yellow spots don't show up right and she looks like she's muddy with yellow streaks/blobs rather than black with yellow dots.

So here's two others: both are well over 600 grams and 40" plus, both are puppy dog tame unless they think you smell like food (last time the male WS bit me was under the nail while I was dropping in chicks...OWOOWOWOW)

2009 White sided male, John Cherry

2009 Axanthic, Rainer

Both sired clutches this year

Thanks DISCERN and MRKENT for the kind words. Graybanded Kingsnakes are in my opinion the most beautiful snakes. Both of you have some really nice snakes. MRKENT congradulations on the two clutches! DISCERN let me know if you ever want to trade your 2005 Male from Suncoast Herp. Kristopher Koepfer (alterna1)

It's a WC brooksi from extreme south dade county. My friend caught and released her this year. She was my favorite king snake I ever saw.

This is my favorite king that I own now. Its a CH brooksi also from the extreme south dade county. Born from a gravid WC female.

Thank you sir. To me there is nothing better than a pure WC brooksi. The occipitolineata are a very close second though.

Also, this WC male from dade county has some sweet chocolatey stuff going on. I need to get a girl for him still.

My male Dryden (Hwy 349) that I got from Robert Palaez in 2009. He is the papa to 2 clutches for a total of 18 babies this year.

And my female, also from R. Palaez, who produced 8 healthy neonates.
