Please post pictures of your new snakes, ones you purchased or hatched that you feel pretty excited about. I love seeing them and admiring the variety. I am very excited about the babies I am getting so most of you must be also.

Thanks,
Vicki

Very nice man. I'm a Floridana guy at heart, but all these Easterns I've been seeing lately have been catching my attention. I even almost bought a pair of "Pine Barrens" I saw on the classifieds about a week ago...reminded me of a book I read as a kid, called "Snake Hunting", or something like that. The renowned Pine Barrens were a focus in the book and a beautiful Eastern was caught there if my memory serves me correctly. Oh the memories....wish I could be a child again sometimes.

GerardS Aug 31, 2011 10:49 PM

Yeah, these are my first Easterns. I got a pair of OBX too. They are really sweet. They eat lizards like crazy.

Was it "snakes and snake hunting" by Carl Kaufeld?

Not even gonna ask what that exchange is all about....but I still would like to know what it is...the snake that is.

CrimsonKing Sep 01, 2011 12:49 PM

The snake is a snow FL king. The mother is a very nice snow

and the father is a normal, 2x het/snow.

I never said it was....but only really because I haven't the foggiest what a "pink pearl snow" is....or anything else for that matter.....as far as they go....
It's displaying anery/axanthic traits and amelanistic traits, so I call it a "snow".

I know Rainer called it a pink Pearl. Do you know if it's Anery or Axanthic? Looks more like Axanthic, or is it both? Either way I like it a lot Mark! Here is my Pink Pearl with my Male ghost. I don't have any new pics of her.

I'm sure you already know this Mark.... a nice big shroud around the viewfinder would work great for that type of thing where the outside surrounding light is a pain.

I thought it turned out great to be honest, but you will no doubt make many personal adjustments as you continue doing that sort of thing.

I could watch stuff like that all day long!..

This is my second clutch of alternas this summer. First year to breed them.

These 8 have all shed, and are still digesting their yolk reserves.

I think this might be my favorite.

My baby pyros hatched first week of July. First time ever incubating snakes.

Pyro baby number one. Male

Pyro baby number two. Male

Pyro baby number three. Female

Pyro baby number five. Female

pyro baby number six. Male

pyro baby number seven. Female

My second snake hatch; the unplanned pregnancy of my young bull snakes! Hatched early August.

Big hypo female and her four little brothers.

One of nine baby fence lizards hatched a few days ago. I've hatched several clutches of these in the past, good experience for doing snakes.

I did not feel the need to buy any reptiles this year. LOL!
