Black pine

DISCERN Sep 03, 2011 04:32 PM

My only black pine, Ms. Peavy is as sweet as they come. The most gentle and kind snake I own, and I am truly blessed to own her. She is Mobile, AL locality, and was purchased from John Meltzer:

I love the soft contrast of the reddish/brown colors on her chin/face.

You're lucky in my book, or maybe I'm just unlucky. Just gifted away an absolutely gorgeous 2 year old female that was just the opposite, whippiest snake I've ever had. I prefer calm, tractable animals, or even mean tractable animals ...but whippy sucks.

Thanks man!!!

I did find out that the parents of my black pine were as tame as she is.

A buddy of mine has an adult male that is also puppy-dog tame when he is handled.

Some are tame, some aren't. My most active snake, who is tame overall but whippy when handled is my Applegate San Diego gopher.

i have a pair that are tame....sometimes! the female can be moody when she is hungry but when well fed, she is easy to handle.
