One more hide

KingDome Sep 05, 2011 06:10 PM

This one I used spray expanding foam insulation in a aerosol can. I sprayed a whole can in a pile and let it dry. Had to poke a hole in the bottom to relieve the pressure of the drying foam inside. Dug out the inside to fit the bowl. Then cut out a hole for the snake access and sanded around the hole. Painted. A fun little project.

Thanks John, We thought the same thing. It was supposed to be a rock, but it turned out to be a pile of dung.
LMBO. lol

Awesome idea Ive never thought to use expanding foam for a hide. Thanks for the seed of inspiration!

Thank you and I'm glad you brought that up because my 10 yr old daughter had a great idea for the next one. The hide will not be that heard to make but the paint job will take awhile. It will be worth it. Stay tuned in.
Thanks again

I have thought of that. After this next one I will make a couple to sell.

How much do you think I could sell them for?

I don't know but look for something similar on line and price yours a little cheaper.

OK Thanks. It's probable to late to put a patent now. lol

I need to work on the paint job and make it look more like a rock instead of a pile of dung. Nobody wants there snake living in a pile of dung.

I can remember finding lots of little snakes and other interesting things by flipping cow pies (piles of dung).

A patent will do nothing for you anyway......Another can just change a little something and side step a patent.......I learned this about my Lairs that will one day be manufactured.....
Plus....I know others that are doing something very similar to your hides......

The cost should be at least a little more than the can of Great Stuff along with the cost of Cow Pie Paint.......LOL
