Pricing for common morphs? (x-post )

mystimel Sep 06, 2011 05:39 PM

I posted this in ball python business/market trends too, but it is less frequented.

When I bought my morphs a year or so ago they cost me $200-300 each. I have no room or time to breed like I'd hoped and was looking to sell them. How much should I price them for to get the best reasonable price? Perhaps a price I can negotiate down from? (I'm located in Long Beach, CA in case it matters) I hear the market has taken a pretty crazy downturn so I guess I'm not expecting great news here about return on my investment but a little advice or recommendations would be great. I'm a poor college student about to start student teaching so I need whatever money I can get.

2009 Pastel Female

2008 or 2009 (unsure) Yellow belly Male

I also have a normal 2006 female I want to sell too, but I don't expect to get much for her really. I would give her away to a good home if needed.

I would be advertising anyplace that doesn't charge me to (Craigslist and... ???)

normal females...20 to 200...
YB males...75 to 150
pastel...09...over 1400 grams.???.....700

all depends -who you are -how fast you want to sell -and where you are,...

Not trying to sell here, just get some advice. I don't know how else to go about asking for this specific advice. I don't want to sell to breeders anyhow, they'd never buy from me if they could help it, cause most can get cheaper morphs from their friends I assume.

Try posting in as many free classifieds as poss. Hoobly is another suggestion, and I think kijiji is ebay's free local classifieds.
