I answered that question for a customer today, I'll save a few key strokes and just paste it in:
I'd like to tell you it doesn't matter at all, but I don't believe that. Low-whites do produce high-whites and you can't expect a high-white to produce high-whites. But there is a trend in the appearance of offspring. I have breeders that I know will produce mostly high-white or mostly low-white offspring based on the appearance of their previous clutches as well as the trends within their lineage. Even with these trends, some of the highest-white Pieds we've produced have been in low-white clutches from snakes that produce mostly low-white offspring, they just turn up less frequently. So you could get a high-white animal that produces mostly low-white offspring, or the other way around, and of course both parents can influence that! That is why people say it doesn't matter. I do not necessarily expect the babies to look like the parents, but after breeding several lineages for several generations, I do see trends.
Regarding the Pied X Pied concept... No, not higher whites. We have bred Pied X Pied to produce entire clutch of low-whites.
