Mojave X Het SS = ....?

amcroyals Sep 07, 2011 12:46 PM

Well our season is slowing down and only a few clutches left to hatch.

This lovely gem is another joint project between Doug Ferrin Reptiles & myself.

We bred Haas line Het Super Stripe male to a Mojave female. It was a 4 egg clutch and this one has us really suspicious that we hit the combo. With that said, we have also seen striped Mojaves pop out of others' clutches. Quite a few have been posted on this forum. This one is staying here to prove out later but we would love to hear your opinions on this one! Enjoy

Alan,
He is a beauty. His head looks a little lighter to me. Do you think he is a mojave specter? He looks like one to me. What does his mojave parent look like? Does he/she have the striping like him? V/R Paige

Balls - As many as my husband will tolerate...other various reptiles, animals, kids and a smoking sweet husband; would be perfect if he only liked ball pythons...

I tend to think of all Mojaves being 'possibly het striped'....
Paired with the right morph, I think any Mojave can make dorsally striped offspring.

Why? Because of the tendency for Mojaves to have dorsal stripes/striping, and the tendency for Mojave combos to have complete, or nearly complete, dorsal stripes.

I've seen fully striped Pastaves.
I've seen fully striped Mojave YellowBellies.
Most Mojave Fires/Sulfurs I've seen have impressive dorsal stripes.
Just the other day I stumbled upon photos of Mojave Fire Deserts. Yep, dorsal stripes. LOL

Ever seen a Mojave Cinnamon that DIDN'T have a near perfect dorsal stripe?

I'd even extend this 'theory' to Cinnamons and YellowBellies.

YB x YB does make a dorsally striped animal (Ivory).

Or any other morph with a somewhat isolated dorsal pattern.
Alot of Spectres for example.
Or perhaps some lines of Granite.

Just a theory of mine.

Congrats on that Mojave Striper.
It is indeed very nice to look at.

Love me some Stripes!
