Cypress mulch was suggested to me as an ideal substrate for my BTS. The problem is- I can't find it anywhere. I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada and cypress mulch doesn't seem to be. I'm looking for somewhere to find it or something else to use.

Edward,
Any negative aspects of bark use in your experience?
Best Regards,
Jean
A couple of minor things come to mind, but I must remind you that I never used bark only; I always combined it with potting soil.
I have seen tiny white creatures on the bark -- no, definitely not mites or any other kind of lizard parasite. Just naturally occuring critters which in due time would decompose the wood. Another thing was sometimes if left to dry too much there was some dust, but this could be more because of the soil than the bark. All I can think of.
