Candling question...

lbrat Sep 09, 2011 07:31 AM

My cinny female dropped a nice clutch of 9 last week and all but two eggs show veins when candled. The two that do not are nice and white in appearance and look no differant than the other eggs. When I hit them with the light, they light up a bright yellow color,no visable veins at all yet they look just as the day they were layed and are not deteriorating at all.Has anyone ever had eggs like this that hatched?
The two eggs in question are the top middle one and the little boob egg in the bottom row.I'll try to get candled pics of them up later.

I did this year with my mojo x mojo, they looked great until about day 17 then they started dimpling and sinking really bad, then they started molding on day 24. I had a feeling they were going to be bad but i didnt want to throw away 2 eggs out of 4 when they could have been housing b.e.ls

Yellow with no veins usually means infertile.

I've had one or two that were questionable that the veins showed up a day or two into incubation - but they were pink so I had hope - doesn't hurt to incubate them until you see signs of life or they start going bad.

No veins = non fertile.

You can incubate them but I would throw them out at the first signs of mold.
