Honduran Breeding Help

chefdev Sep 10, 2011 06:07 PM

I had suspicions of my female ovulating... So I put my male in with her.
My male Honduran is trying his best to slip it in but my female is bigger than him. He has been chasing her for over an hour now and seems to be giving up...

It is late in the season but anything can happen!

What is the end result here?

my fist clutches hatched long ago (not hondos)
my second clutches and hondos hatched awhile ago...
alot of snakes are shutting down for the year....
it's late...
even green rats are hatching and probably subocs...these are late breeders and later hatchers...

I'd say.....take them apart....feed them as long as you can , want...and get ready for an earlier start next year...

hondos wait to breed till second or third shed after brumation to breed ,,,but mine this year bred after first shed...so...
feed 'em up....

It is late... It is also very hot here... South Texas Plenty of time to fatten her up.
