I was just wondering if slate tiles were safe for my new kingsnake. Right now I'm using Aspen chips but in one corner of the tank I have some slate tiles(for decoration really). I just want to make sure it's not toxic or anything.

To answer your question about slate tiles, theat would be a very nice thing. You could make a Retes Stack out of them. Howsoever you position them, make sure they can't fall on your snake and hurt it.
