It's best to just give up and go fishing... or so I figured after a fruitless morning of flipping... I lose more than I catch with the weed cover.

Sweet largemouth Gerry!! That big would have been another pound or two prior to spawn. What did she weigh?
5lbs 10oz according to the cheapo Zebco spring style scale I use, nice fish by Maine standards. Took it at my favorite fishing spot... a little lake most don't look at twice, water too high in the spring, too weed choked during summer and fall but it always gives up some nice Largemouths and Chain Pickerels... catch and release btw... love fishing, can't stand fish other than Tuna
Gerry
Nice bass anywhere. You have to love little honey holes like that. I like to throw a top water (weedless) in the pads and watch the explosion. Fishing is something I need to get back into.

You are a very wise man, Gerry.

Don't know about wise... herping, birding, botanizing or fishing... three flips of a coin and the main focus of my weekend can pretty much my determined... only unknown is, if appropriate, canoe or kayak... another flip of the coin can determine that.
It is difficult to beat fishing though isn't it!
