Anyone ever take measurements?

HerpVenue Sep 11, 2011 07:29 PM

Has anyone ever take humidity measurements inside their incubation enclosure?

I see people put vermiculite mixed with water. then on top of that they put those white light filters that they place on top of their perlite or vermiculite, thereby making sure that their eggs are not in contact with the medium. But has any body ever taken measurements of the himidity inside the box?
I am of the thought that, if your eggs are not in contact with the incubation medium, then what good is it for? What would stop us from just puting the eggs in the little container with ventilatin holes drilled everywhere. Then in placing that container into the incubator, then just making sure the humidity inside the incubator is at a certain level. Like lets say 70%?

You could do it that way as well. As long as the eggs have the right temp and humidity, it realy doesn't matter how you do it.
