Well here are a couple of yearling offspring from her.......

I wonder if they will turn yellow like mom?
If not, they are still looking great and carry the "gene" I hope.......

WOW! Thats really something. What do you think is going on there? Its weird seeing the double yellow like that. I cant say Ive ever seen anything similar...very unique! The babies look good as well. That pink and yellow pattern on them is quite striking.

The mother hatched out normal and started turning yellow with each shed........Now she is totally yellow except her head.....And you can see the yellow speckling under the overall yellow coloration........

I've held back 7 amels (I hatched 10 amels out of 11 eggs).....The Wild Caught male must have been Het for amel and I had GREAT odds or the female had a parthenogenetic clutch.....I dunno....LOL

The one HET offspring is classic Holbrooki...these amels have the Splendida influence from the Refugio County male. Refugio county is at the VERY most southern tip of Holbrooki Range on the Texas Coast.........There are Splendida phenotypes found in Refugio county......as well as holbrooki phenotypes like the sire to the amels.........Weird, huh?......lol

Actually whats funny is I was so taken with the yellow female I never noticed it was a normal WC male that sired albino Kings??? Thats pretty crazy thinking about the possibilies of whats happening. Future breedings hopefully provide answers.

Lol....yea but a het amel by amel should not produce 10 out of 11 amels.......unless I got lucky and they beat the odds........

Are you seeing that with its offspring yet, or not sure?

I'm not really sure....3 of them seem to be yellowing up but the others look pretty much like amel splendida with some speckles on their heads.......
I am definitely going to hold onto the 3 to see if they do turn yellow.......
