Flora & Fauna calicos...

scott_austin Sep 14, 2011 11:26 PM

Theres been a few threads floating around recently comparing the calico and the sugar genes. While I do not own any sugars I do have a handful of the Flora & Fauna line calicos. I do believe that sugars seem to consistently have more high white snakes, the calicos seem to combo better with other genes.
I still haven;t made a high white calico. However, most of my calico offspring have the "shattered" pattern to them, as well as producing some very bright pastel crosses. Now will someone bring out the sugar combos???

I think that sugars combined with other morphs actually make better looking combos than any calico line.....but every year new things happen !!!

I am including a pic of VPI's Pastel Sugar for you to look at.....!

and a pic of my VPI line male Sugar.

It's all just personal preference.

the pastel washes out calico's, especially near the tail section of the animal. and with sugars it seems to just not do that. my .02 cents.

anyhow, nice clutch

I do like both, but prefer the Sugars
