Where'd the snake come from? It should probably be bred to other Ghosts to see if it's the same trait or not.

Nice king, Jeff. I agree with Mike, someone needs to breed one with a Palomar ghost to see if they are compatible. Still waiting on the pictures of those platinums.

actually the Palomar and these newer ones (ame out about about 5 years ago) are both hypos. But hey, lets add to the confusion of one persons mistake made 17 years ago when they named the Palomar a GHOST!

Agree - ghost usually refers to the double recessive of ghost anery. I have to come up with a name before I sell this years offspring.

This is a single gene too.

Barczyk showed me another new line "ghost" he bought (also from SD county btw) that to his surprise is not compatible to the Palomar line.

These originated out of a big colony of black and white bandeds that had been producing for many years before a single “ghost” emerged. I would have called them hypo (type 5?) myself because they are a single gene have a translucent sheen to them like hypo puebs, hondos, and pyros do. To my knowledge they’ve only been bred to themselves and black whites so it will be interesting what the gene does with yellow and brown pigment. One obvious difference I see is this one is a simple recessive, and the Palomar and new group Brian has seem to be are geographic variation (locale look) that just lightens what its bred to in the first generation.

The Palomar Ghosts that I got from Brian at B.H.B. are a single recessive gene.

Interesting. More confusion for me. I don't have any currently, but purchased/bred some from Lloyd Lempke many years ago that weren't. I guess this will make hatching future out crossings more exciting.
