Well, it wasn't ALL bad..LOL!

DMong Sep 19, 2011 03:34 PM

This year I didn't have much luck with three of the adult female ghost, but at the very least my very NICEST adult Bailey ghost female and my killer 2009 hold-back extreme hypo did manage to graciously drop two good eggs for me that hatched successfully. It would have been fabulous to have had a good number of these, but that's how it goes sometimes.

As luck would have it, the two hatchlings to my surprise were indeed a sexual pair!!!!. So at least I can hold these back for pairing together for more nice offspring. The main goal of course will be for some killer extreme ghosts to be produced. I wanted to start on it last year, but the ghosts were used for some other hopeful projects instead.

Here are some pre-shed pics of the hatchlings the two produced. Can't wait to see them after their sheds!..

The pair together......

The male....

The female.....

This is the awesome extreme hypo sire......

This is the sweet Bailey ghost mother....

Thanks for looking!

~Doug

Thanks Billy,.....

These two are also as calm and easy-going as anyone could ever hope for in milksnake hatchlings, which is also a very welcome thing..LOL!

Not a single bit of thrashing, crapping, or biting even while getting sexed, just casually and effortlessly crawled around on my hand while being "tortured". I wish ALL milks were this pleasant to handle and mess with...

At times the best stuff comes out of small clutches or clutches where only a few hatch. This was the only one that made it out of it's clutch a few years ago. Good luck with the Extreme Ghost project.

I'm glad you posted that picture. I have always admired it. What did the adults that produced it look like?

exposito Sep 19, 2011 06:47 PM

This is the mother and the father was either a similar Reverse male or an Extreme male that was Het Albino. The Reverse male never showed much interest, so we went to a back up plan. I don't know for certain, which one was the father.

Thanks!

The reverses still seem to be uncommon.

You really lucked out...very nice!

Is it me, or do they both have a spot in the middle of their, what would be, yellow band?

DMong Sep 19, 2011 07:44 PM

Thanks Rusty,.....very observant my man..LOL!. Yes, they do. On the male it is a bit lower on the lateral portion. The dots may even be on the same band as each other, that would be pretty bizarre. I'll have to see if it is later on.

Congrats Doug. We all have bad luck from time to time. Those two you produced are sweet. Can't wait to see what you get when you breed them down the line.

Very nice Doug. I had some bad luck this too, but we always have next year and you still got some killers animals out of your breedings this year.

Thanks Joe,...you are so right about things not always going as planned or expected. It is just a calculated part of this game we choose to play I guess..LOL!

I am still very disappointed and saddened that your awesome clear zonata eggs failed at the very last minute. I was looking at the photos I saved of them just yesterday man. But as you said, there are many more "other times" in store for all of us!

LOL!, thanks Tom. Yeah, wish I had more room too!

BTW, I am still working on those kings to get eating F/T'd for you. Hopefully the skink scent I plan on doing soon will get some of their responses livened up. These things can be notoriously stubborn at fist.
