First time- new clutch

ReptileMansions Sep 20, 2011 08:39 PM

my female(cleo) lives with another ball(tut) in my 75gal tank and i have a male(pharaoh) in my other tank. i dont know what the other balls(tut) gender but i thought it was a female so i was breeding her with pharoah for about a week then all of a sudden i get 3 eggs in the tank and i couldnt believe after a week i already got eggs but then i thought that couldnt be right and i found the eggs with cleo wrapped around them but i wasnt breeding her and ino the eggs arent duds. so the only snake tht could have mated with her is tut so tht would make him a male but he was mating with my other male pharaoh and they have had a bunch of tail locks. i guess my question is can snakes of the same sex mock breed? and also what is a good temp. to keep the eggs at in the incubator?

ight well ive talked around and ive heard any temp between 83-90 and obviously about my long message not knowing if tut was a boy or girl hes a boy i quite havent developed the popping skill yet

ChrisOz Sep 20, 2011 08:54 PM

If they are clumped together I do 89 if they are seperate I do 87 in the egg chamber

ChrisOz Sep 20, 2011 08:56 PM

You more than likely cant pop a snake that size although I have seen it done

ReptileMansions Sep 20, 2011 09:00 PM

i did it at the havre de grace reptile expo this guy let me do it and i did it but for some reason i cant pop my snakes

BuzzardBall Sep 20, 2011 09:19 PM

It's always better to probe larger Ball pythons!

ReptileMansions Sep 21, 2011 08:33 AM

prob kits are pricey

dchristensen Sep 21, 2011 08:48 AM

Reptile Basics sells a probe kit for $20.

oh cool thanks for that

cut my grass and rake the leaves ...I'll give you a $60 set, handmade and classic....LOL.....

....after an adult male is popped over and over he will pop easily...not good...his muscles are limp due to being manhandled.....

......USUALLY male balls will fight....so you may have 1 male and 2 females....you got three total?.....

....and it is like said...89 / 90 degrees ....for 60 days.......
