Not for sure Ross.....but I think it is......
There's been much debate about this over the years.....
One breeder (who I will not mention) guarantees it is not recessive.....

While others seem to have melanistics that breed like it is a recessive trait.....

I am going to pair up a pair of "hets" next year to see if they produce some melanistics........

That's really strange that there is any debate about that. They've been around long enough for someone to have figured it out by now. Maybe there are just not enough people working with them. Good for you for taking the time to try it out, John. Keep us posted.
