Holdbacks, Hypo, and Hets!!!! Lucille!

IkeLightner Sep 21, 2011 11:15 PM

Hey All,

Its been far to long since I posted any updated pics, but I DO have a legitimate excuse for once! I am currently 1.5 months into the first semester of my first year of law school, and it has been BUSY to say the least. I am happy to report though, that The University of Missouri has a herp society and I attended the first meeting of the year this past Monday!! UMHS appears to be a solid herp society and I am excited for the future with them.

Anyway, here are some recent pics of some of my collection.

First three pics are of my 2006 female Lucille, she produced an awesome litter of 17 babies this summer

2011 - unnamed holdback female #1 - Lucille x Dugo pairing

2011 holdback females #1 & 2 (sisters)

1 & 2

1 & 2

1 & 2 yet again

Now onto the hypo blood!

Diego - 2009 male - 100% het hypo & very RED, super potential

Diego

Diego

Liddia - 2010 female - 100% het hypo BRB

Liddia again

Last but MOST definitely not least.....

Ireena - 2010 female - full hypo

LASTLY, check out Nando, my 2010 holdback, striped male. His mom also exhibits this trait and I hope to cross them one day down the road and produce some full stripers!!

Hey thanks a lot Dave!!

Lucille is probably NOT who you are thinking of. Though just to be sure, who were you thinking of? haha

Lucille is a Hummel production, from his JD X JR pairing and she is definitely one of my nicest BRBs, though I love them all!!!

I am super pumped, for my holdbacks, it should be a fun 2 years seeing how they end up turning out!!!

Also, I'm glad you approve of my hypo project, I think I have sourced some GREAT animals to really create some AWESOME hypos over the next few years.

How many babies have you produced this year and how many litters are you still waiting on to drop??

Yeah, that's not the one I was thinking of

So far 76 babies in 6 litters with maybe another 10 - 15 litters to go. Phew, gonna be a lot of babies by the time I'm done for the year.

Very nice snakes! I am assuming by the 'stripe' you are referring to the stripe along the belly scales? Would be interesting to see a pair of those all the way along the belly. I think I have seen or even might have a BRB or two that has a little bit of pattern like that..... will have to check.

Good luck with the project, and of course law school!!

Hey Aubrey,

Thanks! Yes, the stripe I am referring to is on the belly there, my female who also displays this stripe has VERY bold and dark black striping on her belly and I am really excited to see what these two can produce. If I end up with some 100% connecting stripes I will be pleased, and really think this will create a striking animal.

Thanks for the well wishes!! I saw your post the other day with the new VERY interesting hypo babies you produced, they look really promising. Can't wait to see updated pics as they shed and grow!!!

Lol, it's always hilarious to me how snappy they can be initially as babies. I don't even let their bites phase me anymore, and I hardly even notice them. It is unbelievable though how scared some of my customers get of these snappy little babies. haha these big "tough guys" turn in to scared little babies haha cracks me up how scared they get.

Is this your first feeding attempt with this litter?
