NEW MORPH! - very cool! *PICS*

nextworld3 Sep 27, 2011 02:43 PM

We have been wondering for a while now what keeps making these odd Pinstripes and Lemon Blasts. They kinda look like granite pins, but almost more like chocolate pins or black pastel pins... So i had a feeling the "mystery gene" had to be something... only problem was i couldnt produce it on its own. My male blast always seems to throw super heavy on the pinstripes (which isnt really a problem) so i always ended up with odd pins and blasts..

Well we finally produced the mystery gene... and we were going to call it a Cheetah. Figured we would stick with the big cat theme and this guy has lots of spots.

I havent keep up on morphs as much as i used to so if this has been produced before feel free to let me know =)

Neat looking snake, but cheetah is already taken for another morph involving the leopard gene.
Ocelot? lol

lairofdragons Sep 27, 2011 04:08 PM

So change it to the Panther and that way if you hit a super form thats darker the you can call it the Black Panther....just a thought.
Sweet looking snake...good luck

Ocelot is taken also. I believe it is something from Pete Kahl.

I hatched out some of these early this season. Looks identical to my ganite cinnamon, I also hatched out granite leomn blast and granite cinpins. As soon as I can figure out how ot post pics I load them. Very nice. My granite cinnis also were partial striped down the back.

Since Cheetah is already taken, why even stay w/the "Cat" theme? Think of something cool and unique!

Jbrant Sep 27, 2011 06:09 PM

something close

nextworld3 Sep 27, 2011 06:23 PM

I saw the reaper and thought it looked similar... These are more intense in their pattern though...

Banshee just kind of fits

EmberBall Sep 27, 2011 08:18 PM

Since it reminds me of a Granite, I would follow with a Rock or Geological name. Basalt Ball?

Basalt: A fine-grained, dark, mafic igneous rock composed largely of plagioclase feldspar and pyroxene.

OR

Has Carbon Ball or Cinder Ball or Epoch Ball been taken?

Carbon ball would be cool. What about Lace ball.....then you'd have Black lace, Pastel lace, spider lace, Lacey pinstripes, etc.

nextworld3 Sep 28, 2011 01:18 AM

Lace was taken a few years ago... i think Dan Wolfe has a Black Lace... Not sure about Carbon...
Thanks!

I can't find any pics of it anymore...anywhere, but I think it reminds me of what used to be called the "Paisley". Either way, I like what it does to the Pins.

KBuckler Sep 28, 2011 12:49 PM

WOW............that name brings back memories.

New Horizons Reptiles named some ball pythons Paisley a very very
long time ago!

DChristensen Sep 29, 2011 08:35 AM

It looks to me that it just disrupts and scatters the patterns, therefore, I have two thoughts for the naming of this morph.

-How about the Chaos morph? Chaos: noun, state of utter confusion or disorder; a total lack of organization or order.

The pin would be the Chaos Pin, Chaos Blast, etc...

-My other nomination would be the Entropy ball. Entropy: noun, lack of pattern or organization; disorder.

Entropy Pin, Entropy Blast, etc...
