I was plannig on possibly getting a Uroplatus species at a reptile show in November. I want to set up the cage ahead of time, and have a few options. I will be using live plants, vines, tropical mosses, etc. I have a couple of options as far as cages go. I have a 30 Gallon tall, a 30 gallon regular, and a 38 Gallon Reptarium. If i used the Reptariu,i would buy cage liners for it to keep the humidity in. Which do you think would be best? I wanted one of the bigger spceies, possibly a Lined. Let me know what you think and suggest.

I wouldn't recommend the reptarium. The soft trays let you hold in substrate but unless you cover most of the reptarium with plastic sheets the humidity is going to remain pretty much the same as the ambient humidity of the room.

If you thinking about getting a pair of lined I would go with the 30 Tall. If I remember correctly, lined leaf-tail's are normally collected from the top of palm like trees. They like to be high up. I dont recall where I read this but somone said their coloration matches palm fronds, dead ones at least.

Good luck with the lined. Theyre really cool looking geckos. Enjoy.

ive got a full grown male henkeli in a 20 high and was lookin for a female to pair up withit ... will a 20 high be sufficient for both or will i need to go bigger?

Im not a big fan of minimum caging requirements, but thats just me. I usually go with a good size tank and plant it naturally.

I would think a 20Tall would be too small for a pair of henkeli, just me though, I dont keep them.

i took your advice and just got a 29 gallon for my male at a yardsale for three bucks. i had to rummage through my dads garage to find a cage top but i found one, so i now have a 29 setup that only cost me three bucks... so im pretty happy. ive read on other sites that this is a sufficiant sized tank for a pair (even though im still looking for a female). so thanks for the advice
