bigdg4686 Oct 01, 2003 10:06 PM

Can someone please help me there are the tiny brown insects crawling around the tank. This is the 1st I've seen of them and I've had Dino for more then a year. Has anyone had this problem, and is there a insect killer i can use to kill the invading insects. PLus are they harmful to Dino? Any help would be nice thanks

and are these little tiny tiny bugs? might be grain mites, they are harmless, but a pest. youll have to disinfect everything and bake any wood you have in the enclosure, the heat will kill them, throw out the substrate, scrub the enclosure and replace it with new substrate

Nope no other pets and I think your right with your guess of mites. How can i get rid of them?

I had the same problem last week with my snake. I thought it was mites but I was wrong, thats a good thing. But to get rid of mites with a snake I heard to bath the snake in a warm bath trying to make sure you get the head because the mites will climb out to the head. Some even say to use a small amount of dish soap with the bath I didnt want to do that. I took the whole tank wood etc and soaked it it bleach and water then soaked it again for a day in clear water changing it every few hours.
With mites you can also pick off the ones you see, hard to see on a dragon I would think, my snake happens to be white so I would see them easier.
