Jason, you've taken one of the less well known gophers (at least in the herp culture world) and turned them into an art form. I really like the locality stuff the most and the Phelan locality blonde is very close to the GB that I have. That tinge of greenish tan on the back of the heads of those from that area.

Nice work!

Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate that. Yeah I want to do some more locality stuff and some of the locality's I been working with haven't been very productive.

Hi Pat

Hows you been doing? Yeah the Blondes are pretty cool.

Thanks Jason

Hey Jason!!!!

Been on Incapacity leave for 18 months and will continue until June. Had to give up all of my snakes, cages, etc. First time for more than two decades that I have been without snakes. In June I'll be able to keep snakes again. Have decided to start with pits since they are my faves. I'll probably focus on gophers first. Then we'll see where it goes. Thanks for asking!!!!!

Hi Pat

I thought I heard something about your situation, that's why I asked. I bet your missing some critters right now.

Hang in there, you'll make it.

Take care

Some nice examples Jason.
The Phelan and the orange are my favorites.

Hi John

Thanks for the kind words. Hey did you ever find any Lineaticollis?

Jason

john dhont Oct 03, 2011 03:16 AM

Hi Jason,

No, I didn't find any before the Hamm (Germany) show in September.
Jonel Lopez offered me some but that was after the show.
The next show is in December, but I don't want to import snakes from the US in the winter.
In California they have nice weather all the time but in Germany it can be freezing in December.
I just put my hope in getting babies from Al Stotton next year.
As you know I had a deal last year but my snakes were send to somewhere in the US and not to Germany.

Jason Nelson Oct 03, 2011 06:00 PM

Hi John

Sorry to hear about deal gone bad. I know a guy that can import and export that has some offspring. Getting them from Al may be your best bet.

I really like the motleys

Jason Nelson Oct 02, 2011 12:41 PM

One of the cool things about the Motleys is they are so variable. I should do a post showing all the variations of the Motleys.

Thanks Jason

Wow, I'd sure hope you keep us posted as they mature. Love that "low grade orange motely" ...and the Phelan of course. btw, what makes it a "motley"?

The Motley is a co-dominate gene. Motleys are reduced clean patterned animal. The Motley usually don't have any speckling and the colors are brighter. You can breed a Motley to a normal unrelated animal and get 50% Motleys and 50% normals. Its vary similar to the Anaconda Hognose.
