Way Way Off Topic

John Q Oct 01, 2011 10:06 PM

This is way off topic but I just had to share this experience.
I get home from work this evening and find that my son has made dinner for us. Went to Albertsons and picked up a Tri-Tip roast, potatoes, etc. My wife and I were delighted. A break from the kitchen for her and I'm thinking about a tri-tip sandwich with a beer for lunch tomorrow. My son carves off a few slices and while he and my wife are enjoying the roast he says something about some dark specks in the meat. Then my wife makes a comment so I ask if it's pepper corns? Was this a pre-seasoned tri-tip? My son says no and that he didn't use pepper corns to season the meat. Besides, the dark spots are in the meat and not on the surface. So I grab the knife and start carving into the roast and find BUCKSHOT!!!
I've never had this happen in my life. I couldn't and still can't believe that this has happened.
Check this out!

Hey Jon, it's not so bad. We here in the south grew up eating rabbit and spitting out the buckshot at the dinner table LOL!

Good thing nobody chipped a tooth. But man I tell you those pictures sure are making me hungry. I'll be back going to fire up the grill.

Way too small, looks more like some 8's. Good for skeet and doves, not much else.

No way that's an 8 more like a #2 or maybe even BB.
not buck shot though

I do know how the shot size works, but it looks much larger that the stuff I pull out of my dinner.
