Out of curiosity...what is the total cost to build one of these racks. Including tubs, heat tape, thermostat...everything.

Do you install casters on your racks?
If so, how are you attaching the casters...and what size are you using?

Nice post by the way.
I am sure plenty of people will find it useful.

Thanks for the info.

The cost is from $200 to $275 prices can go up and down on the tubs and wood. I don't put wheels on my racks but it can be done on the bottom of the 2x4 legs just get wheels that and take the weight.

I built one of these following the instructions. Mine is 13 tubs high, and I have casters on mine. I don't know which ones they are, but pilot holes are a must as the casters are just a smidge larger than the 2X4 base. I sunk the screws in at an angle so that the wood would not break with the different torque that can be applied while rolling the rack around. I made sure that the SUM of the weights of the casters added up to the TOTAL weight I would need. I think they were like 200lbs a piece, so a combined total of 800lbs, or something like that, I don't remember the exact numbers. The only problem I have been experiencing is low humidity/bad sheds. I have to spray them down all the time, but I use news paper, not shredded wood (cypress, aspen). I think I need to put that rolled up chrome colored insulation on my walls and ceiling.
