Had a few emails on them in the past 2 days and figured this would be a good way to explain what they are and show some pics.
I bought 2.2 animals from a pet store in 2001 thinking they were jungles. All 4 were totally striped and looked exactly like one another. This is the matriarch.

Bred them together and produced a litter of pastels and anery's. Not what I was expecting at all. I did the breeding again and got this guy.

At this point I was hoping I had hit on something new, but he was the only one that looked that extreme. The next year Big Mike proved them to be incompatible with the original anery strain (huge surprise to us) and all I wanted now was DH's for both lines.
Everyone told me I was crazy, that it wasn't worth the effort, but they're different. And together who knows!
So I tried... for 4 years to no avail to get any of the adult Platty Females to go for me. Finally this year I hit (of course, it's always like that). I used this male from the normal anery line (and an adult platty female) to make the DH's.

So those are going to be the only animals I plan on keeping around here. So maybe in 4 years I'll get the chance to pop out something new!!!
Here's some assorted Platty pics from this years litter (first one since 2005)

Thanks for looking!!!
