Color Enhancement in a Normal SDG

These are the first few photos of a 2009 male SDG right after I got him two years ago. Lots of dominant brown pigment at the time.


And at about six months...

And now at age two. A lot of that brown pigment faded into the background as the yellow pigment enhanced. One of the many things I love about the Pituophis...

His clutchmate, a female I call "FG" for Fat Girl has colored up to a greater degree from the same humble beginning (lots of brown with a tinge of chestnut). As a neonate...

As a six month old...

As a yearling...

At 1.5...

And, at 2.0...
