Building is up!

varanid Oct 08, 2011 06:58 PM

It isn't finished--the electrician comes Monday to wire it up real good. And I gotta hang some plywood or chipwood or something as interior walls.

Huge amounts of insulation. The hole is where the HVAC unit will be going (also happening monday.

It's blue because I like blue. :P

Inside looking out

thick shiny insulation

kind of messy right now. It rained while they were putting the roof on

Won't get stuff moved in for a while--it'll be finished finished next week, but then I've got bigger retic cages coming in November; figure I'll move everyone in then. Trying to figure out how to safely move an insane 80 lb snake will be fun.

yep. Figure with my holdbacks and those I'll have like...14 I'll be housing next year as breeders/holdbacks (maybe 8 of those'll breed next year).

I'm hoping to get a few more king ratsnakes too. Not sure if they'll breed next year or not. My male's big enough, one3 female isn't and one may be by the time I put them into the hibernation cooler.

I'm thinking I'll call it good on the florida kings for a bit and just use my holdbacks your stock for the next couple-three years unless something phenomenal happens.

That's Killer!
I am envious.....I think my next task is to convert the two car garage into my snake room......The 150 square foot room in the back of the garage is just getting too cramped......LOL

a good 2 car garage is bigger than this it's only 350 square feet ( you can only cover so much of your lot with buildings here). i'm so looking forward to it...more room! and we have to make the old snake room into a nursery soon (shudders)

That's nice and roomy. Looking great so far. You must have a lot of stuff. I could burly fill one corner in there. lol

Actually, without the retics I'd be in the same boat. I only have 25 or so animals I'm keeping as breeders right now plus just a handful of pets. But retics take *space* out the wazoo.

Man that's what I need1 I have plenty of space in my yard too. Congratulations, it looks well insulated, and well built! Was it a kit or something? It looks like it's on a concrete slab too?

It was a kit I had assembled (I'm not good with building stuff). The slab is due to zoning regs--anything over 125 square feet has to be on a permanent foundation.

exterior dimensions are 22x16, cut about a foot off for interior dimensions.

What brand/where did you get the kit if you don't min me asking? I'm thinking of something similar.

Mueller Metal Buildings. They go up to GIGANTIC sizes--I wish I could have done a 60x40, that would have been bigger than my house!
