Rhino horn

AllBalledUp Oct 09, 2011 11:14 AM

The anterior prefrontal scales of my female spinner are rising up and separating from the surrounding scales. Looks like some sort of cyst working maybe. Been a great breeder, but always after she lays she goes through this thing where she rubs her chin raw on the ventilation holes on my ARS rack. Usually neosporin both fixes the abraded area and deters the chin-rubbing behavior. I think this time an infection may have entered and caused the rhino growth. Anybody have any experience with and/or treatment tips for this sort of problem? Vet is not open until Tuesday so any interim advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...Dave

I don't have specific experience, but you might try Sliver Sulfadiazine (I think that's how you spell it). IMO it works better than neosporin.
