Nostril Issue

I have a a 7 foot female BCI whom I purchased just over a year ago. She is docile and calm, but I noticed she seemed to hiss a lot. It could be quite perturbing because shes such a nice snake, and wasn't sure why she was doing that. But I also noticed shortly after I got her one of her nostrils is much smaller and almost closed over looking.Nothing raw or nasty, just more of an abnormal nostril. Any ideas what could be going on here? She makes an awful lot of noise sometimes, but other wise has a gluttonous appetite and is active and thriving and easy to handle. I am curious because I don't want to breed her if it is genetic, and the original owner didn't know much. It doesn't seem to bother her, but could it become an issue? I will try to get a pic, but it basically looks like a shrunken nostril, not much obvious scarring. Any advice would be a great help.

Two possibilities for this issue. As you said, it could be genetic in nature, or this boa could have been a corner pusher when it was younger and mis-shaped the nostril. Some snakes will go to a corner and push into it extremely hard in an apparent attempt to get out. Usually a sign of some type of environmental error and the subsequent stress. Hard to tell without seeing it. This is rare but it does happen.
