Sojourn went to Tinley....

Sojourner Oct 10, 2011 09:48 PM

Hi-lights from Tinley NARBC 2011

This was our first time going, and I must say it was incredible. I wish I was not on such a tight shedule. Next year we intend on vending and it is going to be awesome! I was so impressed with the venue and the crowd. We blew through there on Saturday morning, delivering a boa and picking one up.

It was great to put faces to names like Donny and Michelle aka my sick Uncle Morti and LadyDragon, and Warren Booth and Tim Koppenhoffer. I enjoyed seeing my shiny-topped mentor, Jeff Ronne. He was nice enough to pull out, and share with me some of the best looking boas on the planet.

I picked Dr. Booth's brain a little on parthenogenesis. Amazing stuff. His and Lucas Matlock's display was holding it down with some amazing boas as well. Glad to see others got pics of the smokin' Sharp stuff at Boa Basements table. Frank Martin had some nice boas. Quite a few others did, too. I almost bought a really nice anery from Tim K, but managed restraint somehow. I totally missed more than a few people and will do my best to make amends for that next year.

On a side note: There were more ball pythons than I ever could have imagined existed. I do not understand how that market can be that saturated and sustain itself. This might be a boon for boas in the future as fads and trends change, legislation allowing. Thanks to USARK for fighting the good fight on that front.

My family and I had a great time even though it was rushed. I took a lot of pics. So did my wife and son. Here are a bunch of mine.

I will get some of the non boa related ones out of the way first...

And now for some of the boas that blew me away during our quick run through the show....

These two were not at Tinley. I got to see the smoking puppies among others in a little side adventure on the way home. Anyone care to guess what these two are and who they belong to.....

I will share my Tinley pick up once he has settled in a bit, which was my reason for making the trip. It was an amazing experience, though. One worth doing again and again and again.

Anyone wanting to see the rest of my pics from the show, here you go....

Very, very dark eyes. The albino in that group is the only existing albino Roswell motley. After looking at the eyes of both, I believe the eye to be almost clear, and the base of the orbit is actually black. Very cool, and different.

The Key West Motley also has very dark eyes, and are very similar to the Roswell Motleys eyes when viewed up close. Other than that they looked very different.

Thanks!
