uth and thermostat

alieliza Oct 02, 2003 12:53 AM

I just got my hands on a zoo med uth for my fat tail. I think, though, that with just the uth it is warm enough for him...(around ninety degrees in the basking spot.) I have sixty watt both day and night bulbs, but it seems as if i dont even need them. the problem that i am then running into is that there is no fluxuation between day and night temps. I am guessing that the next investment is a rheostat... they really are the way to go, huh?

You don't really need to have both a night time bulb and a daytime bulb. Especially if you have a UTH. You can just turn a bulb on during the day, and leave just the UTH on at night. THis will give a small drop in temps at night.
