Axanthic Lines

MetalHeadReptiles Oct 12, 2011 07:45 PM

I have been doing research and have found both answers to my question. Are Joliff and VPI Axanthic lines compatible? I have a few breeding options this year and need to know for sure to try and prove a few snakes out.

I love axanthics (most don't) but I don't know for sure what can be crossed...but if you have a chance to produce pure VPI Axanthics then that's what I would do. I have two female VPI's both breeding size and both are different color phases, one is dark 1800 g
(more black then grey and white)and the other is light 1600 g(more grey then black and white) NO BROWN not even a hint...never seen it and at this point in their life don't think I ever will.
I have seen in person Jollif's and TSK axanthics and you can see the brown coming through at 3 months to sub adult ages. Now there are exceptions to the rule but VPI's hold color better and longer....now this is just my opinion and I could be wrong.
