I tried really hard to take pictures....

ShadyLady Oct 12, 2011 10:54 PM

These are some of my keeper babies. I just can't get the colors right no matter how many settings or types of lighting I try. Oh, well... I did manage to get this amel motley looking pretty close to his real colors. Hope he stays this pretty as he matures.

And a candycane

Here are ghost bloodreds, yearling male first, baby female second. She shed the day after I took her pic.

Its hard to capture the colors of the little female opal motley.

The lavenders are really tough, too. First a male and then two females. The first two are a kind of deep mauve. The second is more grey.

Here's the male Abbott's I got from him at Daytona.

That first snake, the amel motley, looks like it's trying to be a butter corn. I dig that Okeetee too.

Thanks! The amel motley is het butter. His mom is a butter motley and dad is a het. I can hardly wait to see how the okeetee develops.

They all look very good Amy! I get very frustrated trying to capture true colors also!

Thanks Amy, I have 2 males that look that way. They popped out of my Pure Abbott line. I wish a female would pop out like that, lol. While everyone looks for the thick borders these came out with very thin borders.

I almost burned my eyes out when I looked at that Okee pic Jorge!!! I have a male Abott/Love that is also brightly colored, but with very thin borders. Of course his mate has nice borders, but nowhere near as colorful LOL!! Here is a pic of the male I took over a year ago.

That amel motley is very nice!! Its a shame many breeders are moving away from some of the starter designer morphs like motley and striped amels. They truly are beautiful snakes and rival any of the newer morphs IMO.

That one has nice colors! I agree about the motley. I hope to produce some motley Miamis down the road. I saw one Carol from Low Belly Reptiles had, and it was gorgeous.

The best way to capture a snakes true colors is to take it outside on an overcast day when the lighting is even.

ShadyLady Oct 14, 2011 11:05 PM

So I've heard, tho I'd be afraid to try to photograph these crazy squirmy babies outside, lol.
