leo always sleepy...is this bad?

x1angelbabyx Oct 02, 2003 01:18 AM

hi everyone

i dont know if it's bad or not, but my leo always seems 2 LOVE sleeping. i took a day off of school & work and i come home early 2 check on him - because i know he's nocturnal, he slept all through daytime... but even at night he'll come out 2 eat, then sleep after that, walk around and lie on top of a hide or a log, then sleep on it... it's 11:15pm right now & he's still sleeping. yesterday i was awake at 12:30am and he was sleeping...when i woke up he was sleeping, but he ate all the mealies between 12:30am & 6am... the other day he was wide awake and crawling all over me, but now he's just kinda sleepy a lot...and he'll sleep on/in anything (top of the humid hide, top of the log, next to the log, in the middle of the floor next to nothing, in the cool hide... any advice?

it's 1:45AM and he's still sleeping. he'll wake up for a few seconds to a few minutes, but he'll just go back 2 sleep... his tail isn't skinny and his poops are still normal (not broken, not runny) and it still comes w/ the urate... so i don't know what's goin on? he's supposed 2 b awake @ this time, right?

Its still getting use to its new surroundings. Give it a few days to adjust first.

is that he is just lazy. I have a few leos who spend all day/night tooling around their cages. And others seem content to just kick back and sleep all the time.
If they made leopard gecko tv and couches, I’m sure your guy would make good use of them. I really wouldn’t worry about it. Just take him out every other day to walk around and get some exercise. All my older leos enjoy getting out of their cages from time to time. Good luck!
