Sweeeet. Love to see something special pop out of an egg. Makes snakes not seem like work at all. Like when your freezing your A** off and fish arent biting, then you catch one and it dont seem cold at all.
Congratulations!
Thanks, I am a die hard fisherman and I know that feeling.
Were the D-hets 100%?
Yes they were 100%
There wasn't any mention of the black eyes. I hatched a regular albino like that, there is some speculation that it might be either an albino or a het genetically. I had an albino Burmese with black eyes, it bred like an albino.
Mike, besides the color, what is the difference between albinos with black eyes and ones with red eyes?
Thanks
Marcus Williams
A chimera is an animal showing different characteristics. I think it is possible for yours and mine to be hets, I doubt it personally.
A chimera or chimaera is a single organism (usually an animal) that is composed of two or more different populations of genetically distinct cells that originated from different zygotes involved in sexual reproduction. If the different cells have emerged from the same zygote, the organism is called a mosaic. Chimeras are formed from four parent cells (two fertilized eggs or early embryos fused together). Each population of cells keeps its own character and the resulting organism is a mixture of tissues. Chimeras are typically seen in animals; there are some reports on human chimerism.[1] Plant chimeras are discussed separately.
This condition is either inherited, or it is acquired through the infusion of allogeneic hematopoietic cells during transplantation or transfusion. In nonidentical twins, chimerism occurs by means of blood-vessel anastomoses. The likelihood of offspring being a chimera is increased if it is created via in vitro fertilization. Chimeras can often breed, but the fertility and type of offspring depends on which cell line gave rise to the ovaries or testes; varying degrees of intersexuality may result if one set of cells is genetically female and another genetically male.
I got more and more confused as I continued to read. I will have to to tackle this one in the morning with a fresh mind. That is a mouthful but very interesting. Thanks and I will dig into it what you are saying in the morning.
Thanks again
Marcus
