Locality...

TWRECKS Oct 18, 2011 02:59 PM

For the love of God, can people start posting picks of locality bulls. State to state, county to county, diversity is intriguing and nothing beats the real deal. Natural is beautiful too. Morph, schmorph! I've seen incredible bulls come out of Illinous, Colorado, Kansas, Texas etc. SHOW THEM OFF!

Sorry for the misspelling. Illinois?

OK, I'll play. I have no morphs, just locality bulls. However, three of them are neonates.

Kankakee (Newton County, Indiana) neonate (male)

Kankakee (Illinois side) neonate (male)

Kankakee (Illinois side) neonate (female)

Kingsville Red adult male a.k.a. Ahnuld-the-Red

Wow! Those are gonna' be some smokin' adults! Thanks for posting.

Hey, Thanks!

Pretty busy forum this time of year now that eggs have hatched and snakes are in seasonal draw-down mode. Time to get some information exchange going on wintering snakes! Easy for those that live in cooler climates than southern AZ where I live, more of a challenge for keepers like me!

What took you so long, lol? Man those are nice! I've always wondered if the "Crumly" reds have some Kingsville blood in them. The ones I sold KJ were super red and produced some crazy stuff, but I've seen some offspring that look alot like Ginter's reds.

Thanks!
The ones KJ were breeding were super red!

I still kick myself in the teeth for letting them go, but I don't regret who they went to.

The never was any local info on the Crumbly line. Scott picked up a nice red bull in Daytona one year and I found a nice mate for it at the Mid-Atlantic that was simply billed as a TX animal.

To my eye the line looked a little more lightly colored than the Kingsville line.

The pair I bought from Mr. Crumbly looked normal for almost a year before coloring up to the reddest bulls I've seen. KJ took them and bred some super reds and "tigers". But you can't beat Ginter's natural(locality)reds, which may be partly responsible for the birth of the Crumbly reds, but we'll never know. My favorites now are the dark bulls from Indiana and Illinois. It amazes me how unique alot of bulls are from state to state. I'm suprised they are not more popular. Especially in their natural form. I do like some of the natural morphs such as the Kingsville reds and the Miami county axanthics. But for the most part, I don't think bulls need much tweeking.
